Mrs. Lou Ann Moorman, age 74, of Mears, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016, at her home. She was born March 3, 1942, in Mount Pleasant, MI to Lavere and Maxine (Tucker) Roose. Lou Ann graduated from high school and was employed as a receptionist in the medical offices of Dr. Engstrom and Dr. Barnes in Whitehall. On July 10, 1996 she married Gene Moorman in Las Vegas, NV; they were married for twenty years. Lou Ann enjoyed helping people at the doctor's office and volunteering to the homeless person's in Okeechobee, FL. She loved caring for her husband Gene and being a grandma too. Lou Ann also found joy in crafting, sewing; especially making pillows, as well as baking, most especially pies and pumpkin rolls.

Lou Ann is survived by her husband, Gene Moorman; daughter, Carmen (Robert) Burgess of Whitehall; son, Cary Hasty of Battle Creek; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-children, David (Debbie) Moorman of Bedford, IN; Melinda (John) Baumunk of Knoxville, TN; Andrew (Gena) Moorman of Alexandria, IN; Suzanne (Barry) Morphew of Arcadia, IN; sister, Andrea (Rolland) Schneider of Hesperia; brother, Scott (Theresa) Dawson of Marshall; and her cat, Brownie. She is preceded in death by her parents.

The Memorial Services for Mrs. Moorman will be Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 2:00 pm at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Hart with Randall Roose officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shelby. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
