Louis Eugene Martin Jr., 73, of Mears, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Mercy Health Mercy Campus, in Muskegon.  He was born July 14, 1948, in Palmer, Massachusetts, the son of Louis and Marie (Curren) Martin Sr.

Louie was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the US Navy.  He retired from Burnette Foods, in New Era, in 2010.  Louie had also worked as a wrecker driver for Oceana Auto for many years.  In his spare time, Louie enjoyed camping along the White River, hunting and fishing.  He loved working on old cars, especially his 57' Chevy.  In recent years Louie sat on the front porch enjoying the sunshine, nature and also everyone that stopped to visit.

On June 20, 1992, in Mears, Louie married Lori Hart, who survives him.  He is also survived by: his children, Jeremiah Martin, Lonnie Martin, Adam (Jessica) Perysian, and Starlyn (John Congdon) Perysian; his grandson, Liam Perysian; and his sisters, Kathy (John) Casagranda and Sandy Emerson El Hajj.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 3-5 PM, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 N. 72 ^nd Avenue, Hart, Michigan, 49420.  Graveside services with military honors will be held in the spring at Mears Cemetery.
