IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille Carol
Michael
November 19, 1938 – September 8, 2024
Lucille Carol Michael, age 85, died peacefully at her home in Whitehall, Michigan, on September 8, 2024, with loving family at her side.
Lucille was born in Detroit on November 19, 1938, to Henry and Jeanne Bibeau. She was well known and loved in Whitehall, where she lived for over 50 years.
In addition to being the mother of six, for many years she was the owner and operator of Robinson's Bakery, drove a school bus, and worked several other jobs outside the home.
As a devout Catholic, Lucille was active in her church and the community. She taught Catechism, and when her children were young, she made sure all of them attended Mass weekly. They were never late, as that was considered disrespectful.
Lucille was the foundation of her family, and they considered her the "anchor and light" and "their rock." She was a strong person, and a "tough love Mama." She gave her children "pinched looks" when she was disappointed in them. Yet she was nonjudgmental, always there to support, and give unconditional love. Lucille was a best friend in addition to a mother. She encouraged family gatherings, where she is remembered as frequently cooking and laughing.
In her free time, she enjoyed hobbies such as crocheting, sewing, walks in the woods, bird watching, and gardening.
Lucille is survived by: her children, Charles Henry Michael, Paul Michael, Sue Williams, Julia (Mickie) Miller, and Stephen (Lora) Michael; her siblings, Paul (Jane) Bibeau and Diane (Dennis) Gaydek; She leaves behind the legacy of 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; her parents; her daughter, Patricia Carlson; and her sister, Marie Gundle preceded her in death.
