Mrs. Lucille Alice Stroup, age 75, of Ludington, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Mercy Health Partners Mercy Campus in Muskegon. She was born January 6, 1941, in Hart to Lawrence and Alice (Bellgraph) Alvesteffer. Lucille graduated from Hart High School in the class of 1959. In April of 1977, Lucille married Mr. Charles Stroup in Edmore, MI. She was employed at Carrom Company in Ludington and her husband's accounting firm where she handled bookkeeping and clerical work. Her humor and compassion will be remembered always. Family meant everything to Lucille and she enjoyed bringing family together for events and vacations as well as being the rock of the family, always lending a listening ear or shoulder to cry on.

Lucille is survived by three sisters: Joanne McGhee of Red Lion, PA, Carol (Jerry) Kirkbride of Kingsley and Rose (Robert) Wagner of Muskegon, MI; one brother: David (Michelle) Alvesteffer of Newport News, VA; Step Son, David (Stephanie) Stroup of Cocoa, FL; Granddaughter, Melanie Stroup of FL; Grandson, Wyatt Stroup of FL; three Sisters In Law, Janet Stroup, Nancy Warmuskurken, and Joyce Alvesteffer. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and her beloved cat, Miss Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, brothers: John, Rev. Eugene, and Max Alvesteffer, as well as her sister, Marie Antonopulos.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Stroup will be offered Friday, April 22, 2016, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Weare with Fr. Phillip Sliwinski presiding. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home in Hart, with a Rosary Prayer Service at 6 p.m., and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
