Mr. Lyle Norval Keely, age 78, of Mears, MI passed away Monday, July 27, 2015. He was born February 22, 1937, in Flint, MI to Fredrick and Ruby (Holbrook) Keely. In 1958 Lyle married Nancy La Fay in Grand Blanc, MI; they celebrated fifty-eight years together. He was employed at General Motors in Flint, MI as a supervisor in the Fisher Body Plant where he worked for thirty-six years until his retirement in 1988. He was a handy person with mechanical ability and also the builder of his own homes. Family was important to him; wife, children, and grandkids. Lyle was a handsome man who liked to be well dressed and he shared an infectious laugh with others. He was a self-taught harmonica player enjoying both playing and singing of old music and the Blues. To Lyle everyone was known as, 'Virgil' and the granddaughters as "Sugar Babe". Lyle is survived by his wife, Nancy B.(La Fay) Keely of Mears, MI; two daughters, Mindy Keely of Silver Lake, MI, and Catherine (Ronald) Six of Montague, MI; two sons, Robert (Betsey) Keely of Chuckey, TN and Mark (Henriette) Keely of Harbor Springs, MI; daughter-in-law, Stephany Keely of Burton, MI; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Jennie Piazza of Grand Blanc, MI; and many special friends in the Silver Lake area. He was preceded in death by his parents. As per Lyle's wishes, that there be no services held.
