Mabel Amelia Conkle, age 78, of Hesperia, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014. She was born July 19, 1935, in Colfax Township to Frank and Emma (Smith) Crisple. She was employed as a clerk in convenience stores and attended Walkerville High School. Mabel enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She also loved to entertain and cook for her family. Mabel also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds.

Mabel is survived by one daughter: Sue (Tom) Stanfield of Hesperia, and three sons: James Conkle of Pentwater, Larry Conkle of Walkerville, and Denny (Gail) Conkle of Hesperia; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and Son, Jeffrey Conkle, Daughter, Kathy Monton, Grandson, Ross Conkle, 2 Brothers, Vinson Crisple, Bill Crisple, 2 Sisters, Evelyn DePeel and Natalie Austin.

The Memorial Service for Mabel will be held Sunday, May 18, 2014, at 4:00 pm at King Funeral Home-Hart with Pastor Bob Abbott officiating. Interment will be in the Elbridge Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday one hour prior to the service at King Funeral Home-Hart. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Mercy VNS and Hospice, 888 Terrace St., Muskegon, MI 49440.
