Mandy Leigh Block-Carson, 45, of Whitehall, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, at home. She was born October 3, 1978, in Flint, the daughter of Charles (Dave) and Robin (Renton) Block.
Mandy was employed at Aludyne in Whitehall until she left to care for her 4 grandchildren while her daughter worked. In her spare time, Mandy was an avid outdoorsman who loved wildlife, enjoyed hunting, music festivals, mushroom hunting, expos with friends, riding her motorcycle, and working on vehicles. Most of all, Mandy loved being with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life and her "reason to go on".
Mandy is survived by: her 3 children, Brianna (Griffin) Ray, Cortland (Shay Zerlaut) Carson, and Morgan (Daniel) Vereeke; 4 grandchildren, Samuel, Sawyer, Sutton, and Sylvia; her brothers, Charles Block Jr and Mathew (Carrie) Block; her nephews, Andrew Block, Casey Block, Spencer (Madison) Block, Cameron (Calista Busscher) Block; her great nephews, Hunter, Brycen, Knox, Hudson, Archie, and Carter; her great nieces, Ashlynn, Sadie, and Ayla; mother in-law, Alice Carson; uncle, Edward Opie; cousins, Corky, Brett, and Garrick Opie; and special friends, Brandy Debor Kondracki, Logan Debor, Kelly Carson, and Ron & Tonya Hesselink.
Mandy was preceded in death by: her father in-law, Ivan Carson; her grandparents, Kenneth Pa (Izzy) Renton, and Georgia (Buford) North; and aunt, Judy Opie.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, October 11, 2024, at Reeman Christian Reformed Church, 6121 South Fitzgerald Avenue, Fremont, MI 49412, with Pastor Les Van Dyke and Pastor Nate Kooistra officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 PM until time of services at the church. A luncheon will follow, at the same location.
