Obituary

Margaret Ruth (Levand) VandenBroek, 99, of Mears, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019, at home. She was born March 15, 1920, in Grand Rapids.
Margaret was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force. She retired from Muskegon Public Schools where she taught for many years. In her spare time, Margaret loved traveling and her animals.
Margaret is survived by: her nieces, Wanda (Terry) Goodenough, Kathy (Bruce Munn) Thompson, Barb (Bill) Proos and Mary (Joe) Sycterz; her great-niece, Sally Hayes who took care of Margaret the past two years so she was able to stay in her own home; her great-niece, Anne (Mike Johnson) Conley; her great-nephew, Brian Siedlecki; and several cousins.
Margaret was preceded in death by: her husband, Wesley Vandenbroek in 2016; her sister, Dolores McFarland; her nephew, Terry McFarland, her great-nephew, Ben Siedlecki; her sisters-in-law, Elois DeVos and Virginia Goldsmith; and her brothers-in-law, Casey VandenBroek and Robert McFarland.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 22, 2019, at West Golden Wesleyan Church, in Mears, with Pastor Sue Beckman officiating. The family receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oceana County Animal Shelter.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
