Obituary

Margie Leona McClellan Dickerson
January 4, 1938 – August 17, 2025

Margie Leona McClellan Dickerson, 87, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. She was born on January 4, 1938, in Cullman County, Alabama, to the late Charlie Albert McClellan and Lillie Ada Burgess McClellan.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, William Dickerson; her sister, Geraldine Snell; and her sons, Micheal William Dickerson and David Allen Dickerson.

She is survived by her sister, Josephine McClellan Bryant; her devoted daughter, Johnell (Mark) Peterson; and her daughter-in-law, Nancy (Tim) VandeBunte. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Jacob Allen Dickerson, Johnathan Michael (Nichole) Dickerson, and Adam Quentin (Megan) Dickerson, as well as her great-grandchildren, James Sponseller, and Gracelyn, Shaylyn, and Kace Dickerson.

Margie was a woman of grace, strength, and deep love for her family. She had a passion for gardening and especially cherished her Impatiens and Boston Ferns, which she tended with care and joy. Her warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone who knew her. Her love for gardening was only surpassed by her tremendous devotion to her family.

Legacy & Memories
Margie's playful spirit was one of her most endearing qualities. She was well known for gently pressing her finger into any pot of soil—whether it belonged to her or not—just to make sure the plant was properly cared for. She also had a knack for spotting treasures where others saw "junk." Margie loved nothing more than a Saturday morning yard sale, always on the hunt for the next great bargain among someone else's soon-to-be discarded items. What she brought home wasn't always practical, but it always came with a story and a laugh and its only little place packed "neatly" in her house.

Every Christmas Eve, she delighted in preparing her special 7UP and lime sherbet punch alongside her three grandsons, a tradition that will be lovingly carried on in her honor. These simple yet treasured rituals, filled with laughter and love, are the memories her family will hold close forever.

In accordance with Margie's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with immediate family.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
