IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margot Stainton
Pulver
July 22, 1934 – August 27, 2024
Margot Stainton Pulver passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born July 22, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Taylor) Stainton.
She was a beloved wife to Merle Pulver, a devoted mother to her children Maija Anderson (Cal), Marti Oswald (Bill), and Murray Pulver (Michelle), and a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren: Celeste Kaufman (Kevin), Carlie Bishop, Palmer Anderson, and Gabe Oswald; who brought her immense joy and pride.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, father, brother, sister, husband, and daughter, Marti.
Margot's life was marked by a steadfast commitment to faith, family, art, adventure, and community service. Margot graduated from the Putney School in Putney, Vermont in 1952. She attended Colorado College and Skidmore College, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Art, in 1956, followed by a Master's Degree, in Fine Arts, from Case Western Reserve. Subsequently, she shaped young minds by teaching art in Rochester, New York. She then pursued her passion in art while working in New York City at the Museum of Modern Art and the New York Public Museum. While raising her children, she considered herself a domestic engineer.
Margot enjoyed painting, sewing, crafting, gardening, traveling across the globe, and volunteering at her church and various community organizations. Independent to her core, she had great moxie and an undying propensity for new hobbies and experiences. She spent every summer of her life in the White Lake area, except the summer she hitchhiked through Europe. She loved the Lord and her faith grew throughout her lifetime. Above all, she cherished time with her family and her friends, always inspiring laughter among those around her.
Margot's presence will be deeply missed, but her spunkiness and love for life will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
