Marguerite Lila Smith, 92, of Elkton, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility. She was born August 28, 1933, in Bay City, the daughter of Walter and Lila (McCalden) Luginbuhl.

Marguerite had a full life with many joys, among them were reading and playing the piano. However, her primary joy in life was her loving family.

Marguerite is survived by: her children, Karen (David) Lundberg, Dwayne (Tracey) Smith, Renita (Tony) Kretzschmer, and Bethany (Mike) Moore; grandchildren, Tim, Ben, Andy, Steven, Jonathan, Rachel, Jennifer, Allissa, Haley, and Grant; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ryan, Sullivan, Emeri, Taggert, Falyn, Jonathan, Ian, Evan, Cambrie, Vivian, Sylvia, Dean, and Jolene; and sister, Helen Hobbs.

Marguerite was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Ray DeWeerd; parents, Walter and Lila Luginbuhl; sister, Marya Barrett; and brother, Walter Luginbuhl.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, April 18, 2026, at the Community Wesleyan Church, 5171 Whalen Street, Elkton, MI 48731.
