Mrs. Maria Inez Diaz, age 77, of Walkerville, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, at home. She was born February 27, 1939, in Zacateca, Mexico to Conception and Maria (Escovebo) Esparza. She was married to Alejandro Diaz and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2012. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who held very high family values.

Maria is survived by six daughters, Maria (Jesus) Valdez of TX, Maria Diaz of Walkerville, Doraelia (Ernesto) Galvan of FL, Amalia Diaz of Walkerville, Alicia (Max) Toledo of GA and Maria Inez (Gonzalo) Flores of Mexico; four sons, Alejandro Diaz Jr. of Fremont, David (Maria) Diaz of IN, Victor Manuel (Kaley) Diaz of Walkerville, and Jose Angel (Sulma) Diaz of IN; thirty-nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Manuel and Ignacio Esparza both of Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alejandro Diaz Sr.; one sister, Florentina Esparza; four brothers, Conception Esparza, Jose Esparza, Paulino Esparza, Erclio Esparza.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Diaz will be Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 10:00 am at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart with Father Norbert Leyrita presiding. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 6:00 pm at King Funeral Home in Hart. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home in Hart.
