Marian A. VanGills, 76, of Pentwater, passed away at Tendercare in Ludington, Wednesday, March 26, 2008.
She was born in Ludington, February 15, 1932 to Vernor and Vera (Stickney) Wyant. Marian graduated from Scottville High School, was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church in Pentwater, and worked at Howmet Manufacturing in Whitehall for more than 35 years. She Married William VanGills November 10, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Weare. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William "Bill" VanGills of Pentwater, Children, Doug (Linda) VanGills of Pentwater, Rick (Cheryl) VanGills of Hart, Kim (Sue) VanGills of Ludington, Jolyn (Pete) Dumonte of Ohio, Cheryl (Bill) Evans of Hart, Melinda VanGills of Whitehall, Jill (Doug) Walls of Hart, 12 grandchildren, two sisters, Janice Peters of Brooklyn Carol Meguiley of Grand Rapids, also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many friends. Marian is preceded in death by one son Randy VanGills, and one brother Harold Wyant. Visitation for friends and family will be from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, at the Tate-King Funeral Home in Hart. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Pentwater, Fr. Anton Tran will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Weare. Memorial contribution may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
