Marie Annette (Shaw) Baynton

On Tuesday February 24th, 2026, Marie Annette (Shaw) Baynton,83, of Monroe Center, Michigan departed to rest with our lord and to reunite with those who departed before her.

Marie,was born on October 4th,1942 in Battle Creek Michigan to Newman and Marion Shaw. She graduated from Nashville High School in 1961. She went on to marry Alfred William( Bill) Baynton on Aug 21st, 1963, at St Cyril’s Catholic Church. They had 4 children, Tammy(Steve) Haughton, Julie Volk, Jeff (Jennifer) Baynton and Kim (Mark) Basch. In her early years she was a home maker and raised her 4 children and all the children in the neighborhood.She went on to work at Lear Automotive and Cherry Growers.

She was born in a big catholic family, who were all very close. She had 10 brothers and sisters, Bill(Artha) Shaw, Mary(Pat) Kersjes, Patricia(Beulah) Shaw, Norma(Juergen) Walliczek, Kate(Julius) Maurer, Nancy(Vic) Schantz, Jim(Bonnie) Shaw, Walt(Vergie) Shaw, Marylin(Ralph) Merchant and Joe Shaw.

Family meant everything to her. Her greatest joys were her children, grand children, Jeffrey(Kayla) Baynton, Jacob(Emily) Baynton, Jaylee(Roberto) Baynton, Bryton(Aleasha) Basch, Brandon(Hannah) Basch and Alex Volk. She was blessed with 3 beautiful great grandchildren who she treasured and always enjoyed spending time with and seeing pictures and videos of them, Oliver(Ollie) Basch, Rosie Baynton and Lorelai Baynton.

She found great joy in having a beautiful yard and flower gardens. She always wanted to care for others even when she wasn’t well herself.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, parents Newman and Marion Shaw, sisters Mary, Norma, Kate and Nancy and brother Jim, her son in law Steve Haughton and her grand daughter Cassandra(Cassie) Marie Volk.

A celebration of life will be celebrated in the spring with family and friends.
