Marie Helene Sparks,  age 97, of Hart, MI, passed away on April 28, 2017 at Cherry Blossom Manor in Hart. She was born June 30, 1919 in Hamtramck, MI daughter of Andrew and Olga (Seyfarth) Hirschberger.

Marie married William Sparks on December 26, 1938. Marie worked at the General Motors Hydro-matic Plant in Ypsilanti Michigan for about 30 years. Marie was a member of the St. John Lutheran Ladies Aid, the Ludington Red Hat Society and St. Luke Lutheran Church Ladies Aid in Haslett, MI. She was a devoted Christian and patriotic woman who enjoyed fishing and camping.  Marie was a fun loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her children: William (Ginger) Sparks of Waldron, AK, Marlene (Glenn) Freeman of Harrison, MI, and Sally (Larry) Wisner of Pentwater, MI; nine grandchildren: Kimberly Sparks-Hodge, Ashley Sparks, Loretta (Michael) McCarthy, Glenn (Sherry) Freeman, Valerie Freeman, April (Steve) Thompson, Tammy (Ray) Murray, Larry Wisner and Mark (Holly) Richardson; Many great and great-great-grandchildren; her sister: Caroline Cadeau of Stockbridge, MI; along with many nieces and nephews and many close friends including Rhonda Kloeckner of Lansing, MI and Joyce Palmerton of Haslett, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband William who passed away on August 30, 1995.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at church. The Funeral Service for Marie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church, 209 N. Rowe, Ludington, MI 49431 with Pastor Thomas Boehne officiating.

Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia, MI on Thursday May 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
