Obituary

Mrs. Marjorie Ellen Richardson, age 62, of Walkerville, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012. She was born July 28, 1950, in Shelby to William and Barbara (Kludy) Jensen. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA and was a school teacher at Walkerville Public Schools for twenty years. Marjorie married Richard Richardson on April 8, 1972 at the Hart United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Marjorie's family was very important to her. They cherish the memories of her rocking and singing lullabies to them. Her faith and music were also vital parts of her busy life; she was active in her church, including the choir, and with the Grand Traverse District of United Methodist Women. She was a woman who always persevered and honored her commitments. Among many other things, she was a band booster in Walkerville, a volunteer at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility, a ticket taker at the Oceana County Youth Fair and a member of the Oceana Singers; she taught music and French and had traveled throughout most of the United States.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Richard Richardson; two daughters, Karissa (Fredrick) Pease of Grant, and Kathleen (Montana Banwell) Richardson of Walkerville; three sons, Adam (Darlene) Richardson of Dansville, Matthew (Kelly) Richardson of Grand Rapids, and Nathanael (Beverly) Richardson of Ludington; her mother Barbara Jensen of Hart; one sister, Elizabeth Hammerle of Hart; two brothers, Rev. Curtis (Anne) Jensen and Stanley (Margaret) Jensen, all of Mt. Pleasant. She also has seventeen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, William Jensen, a daughter, Katie and a son, Erwin.

The funeral service for Mrs. Richardson will be held Monday, October 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Hart United Methodist Church with Pastor Rebecca Wieringa officiating. Visitation will be hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Mt. Ulysses Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hart United Methodist Church, 308 S.
