Mrs. Marjorie Meta Schuler, age 89, of Ludington, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington. She was born July 16, 1926, in Birch Run, Michigan to Walter and Martha (Ill) Honold. Marjorie married Donald E. Schuler on November 7, 1943 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millington, Michigan. She was employed as a cashier at Cobb's Store in Millington, Michigan and also was a cook.

Mrs. Schuler was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was very active at St. John's especially helping with the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Prior to her being a Ludington area resident for the past fourteen years, many of those at Longfellow Towers, she and her husband Donald resided in Millington, Michigan for seventy five years and had been members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Marjorie had attended St. Paul's Lutheran School in her early childhood. She graduated high school in Millington, where she a member of the Millington High School Glee Club. Marjorie and Donald were avid square dancers. Some of her pastime was spent crocheting, working puzzles, and playing cards, triominoes and dice with Don. She also loved flower gardening and would also instruct Donald where she would like each plant to be placed.

Marjorie is survived by two daughters: Nancy (Art) Isham and Barbara Schuler, both of Ludington; two sons: Gary (Joni) Schuler of Millington, MI and James Schuler of Fowlerville, MI; she also has five grandchildren, Ronald (Pam Cmjrek) Isham of North Muskegon, MI, Yvonne (Daniel) Greene of Scottville, Chris Earls of Millington, MI, Robert (Jessica) Schuler of Albion, IN, Rebecca (Andy) Bowman of Dawsonville, GA; three great grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Kozicki of Scottville, Meaghan Greene of Ludington, Wyatt Bowman of Dawsonville, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald E. Schuler on February 5, 2007, two sisters, Leota Reed, Donna Smithson.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Schuler will be Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 3:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ludington with Rev. Thomas Boehne officiating. Interment will be in Meadow View Memorial Gardens, Davison, Michigan. Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service at St. John's Lutheran Church, 209 North Rowe Street, Ludington, MI.
