Steinebach
September 8, 1936 – July 29, 2024
Marjorie Mae Steinebach, of Buckley, Michigan, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City, Michigan.
Her life began September 8, 1936, the daughter of Alexander and Helen Burnett (Yomant), of Summit City, Michigan. Marjorie attended Kingsley School and later found her true love, Jack, at a Summit City Grange Hall dance. Marjorie was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, beloved sister, and friend, and always a lady. Most of her days she spent caring for the needs of her family and household, and at times she became a secondary breadwinner taking temporary and seasonal jobs. She was very proud to serve as a volunteer for the Buckley Community School District throughout the 80s, 'enjoying' frigid winter days with the kids at recess, or helping a youngster find a particular library book. She also took great pride in her home that she and her husband literally built together from foundation to roof.
Marjorie's amazing soul and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts of her beloved husband of 70 years, John F. (Jack) Steinebach; Children, John E. Steinebach of Buckley, Linda DeVincent-Easley of Rockwood, TN, Gary Steinebach of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and Jill Borchers of Buckley, MI; Grandchildren, Daniel, Layna, Brenda, Amy, and Dylan; many great grandchildren; the fifth-generation addition...Little Leo; sisters, Carolyn Teall of Traverse City, MI, and Eldora Crain and her life-partner George Widrig of Sweetwater TN; brother, George (Jim) Burnett and wife Rebecca of Summit City, MI; many loving in-laws and friends; generations of nieces and nephews; and Coco, her forever faithful Border Collie.
Marjorie was preceded in death by: her parents; and the family's very own shooting star, grandson, Sean Alexander DeVincent in 2012.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, Friday, August 2, 2024, at St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Church with Father Joseph Muszkiewicz celebrant.
