Obituary

Marlene Joan Amrein, 88, of Whitehall, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025. She was born May 5, 1937 in Chicago.

Marlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma (GG). She loved to garden, cook, and entertain.

Marlene is survived by: her daughter, Laura (Dean) O'Meara; sons, Curtis (Kathy) Amrein and Rodger (Joanne) Amrein; grandchildren, Robert Monreal, Nicholas (Brittni) Monreal, Matthew (Cathy) Amrein, Kelsey (Sam) Richardson, and Zachary (Sarah) Amrein; great-grandchildren, Madison Monreal; Caleb Richardson, Wyatt Richardson, Mia Amrein, and Robert Monreal.

Marlene was preceded in death by: her husband, George "Noon" Peter Amrein, Jr. who was the love of her life, and her mother, Eleanor (Zurawski) Gedrim.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church, 5149 Dowling St., Montague, MI 49437, and interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Montague. All in attendance are cordially invited to a luncheon at Noon, at The Handsome Hobo, 1437 Whitehall Road, Muskegon, MI 49445.
