IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marlene Joyce
Windbacher
October 12, 1932 – July 10, 2024
Marlene Joyce Windbacher, 91, of Whitehall, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, she was born October 12, 1932, the daughter of Thomas and Mildred (Hain) Armstrong.
Marlene was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved making people smile and rarely said anything bad about anyone. Her famous advice was to "Give someone a smile, you never know who needs one"; she has touched many people with that smile.
Marlene enjoyed being a housewife; especially cooking when all the family was together or gatherings with friends. Marlene retired from CVC, where she filled vending machines at Howmet plant 3. She enjoyed her 30+ years in TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly). She loved to crochet, read, and especially play cards with family and friends. You rarely went to the Windbacher house without the cards coming out. The laughter and friendly competitions will forever be in many hearts.
Marlene is survived by: her children, Michael (Arlene) Windbacher, Pam (Carl) Churchill, Debra (Carl Meloy) Windbacher, and Sandy (Cal) Durham; five grandchildren, Noah (Lora) Windbacher, Elizabeth (Patrick) Gallagher, Cheston Churchill , Sarah (Josh) Wright, and Taylor Durham; and eight great-grandchildren, Landen, Ellen, and Avery Windbacher, Elsianne and Rylan Gallagher, Devyn Meloy, and Cari and Emma Wright.
Marlene was preceded in death by: her husband of 67 years, Charles Windbacher; her parents, Tom and Mildred Armstrong; her brother and his wife, Tom and Dorothy Armstrong; and her brother, Don Armstrong.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1101 S. Mears Avenue, Whitehall, with Pastor Douglas Ogden officiating.
