Celebration of Life
Marsha Jean Cole, age 73, passed away on January 19, 2026, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City, Michigan.
Born on March 3, 1952, in Gaylord, Michigan, to parents, Robert Lee Cole and Margaret Jean (Allan) Cole. Marsha grew up in Mancelona, Michigan. She graduated from Mancelona High School where she was involved in cheerleading, band, and acting in the senior play. She went on to attend Ferris State College.
Marsha found her calling in cosmetology, both as a hairdresser and as an educator. She taught in Detroit and Mt. Pleasant before moving to Traverse City where she worked in sales at Dunham’s.
While living in Mancelona, Marsha enjoyed skiing at Mt Mancelona—a pastime that reflected her love for the outdoors. Later in life she was a devoted member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, where she cherished the fellowship of her church family and friends. Her love of baking was enjoyed by not only the church but neighbors, friends and family.
Known as a very caring sister and friend, Marsha touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. Her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew her. She is survived by her siblings, Michael (Shirley) Cole of Traverse City, Elaine (Peter) Kubsch of Rossville, Indiana, Robert (Shirley) Davenport of Kalkaska, Doris (Thomas) Schultz of Portland, Oregon, Scott (Barbara) Davenport of Mancelona and Ann Cole, formerly of Mancelona.
May her memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Kingsley United Methodist Church with desserts and refreshments immediately following.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Kingsley United Methodist Church or Munson Hospice House.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
