IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marsha Louise
Mahynski
January 23, 1949 – October 12, 2024
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend Marsha Louise Mahynski, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 12, 2024, after a brief but brave battle with cancer. Born in Muskegon, January 23, 1949, the daughter of Donald and Virginia Ashcraft. Marsha lived a life filled with love, laughter, and endless generosity. She attended St. Jean's Catholic School and later graduated from Muskegon Catholic High School in 1967, where she remained close with her classmates throughout her life.
On July 10, 1970, she married the love of her life, David Mahynski, and they planted roots in Hart, Michigan, where they became vital members of the small, tight-knit community. A devoted mother, Marsha stayed home to raise her children during their early years before working at St. Gregory's Church, where she was deeply involved. She later transitioned to work as an office manager at Hodges Pontiac in Hart, followed by Ground Heaters in Spring Lake, and eventually Family Financial Credit Union, where she worked until her retirement.
Marsha had a heart as big as her smile and a laugh that was nothing short of infectious. She never met a stranger and treated everyone like family. A card shark at heart, she loved playing cards with family and friends, bringing joy to every gathering with her sharp wit and fun-loving spirit. Known for remembering every important date, Marsha had a gift for making others feel special, sending thoughtful cards full of encouraging words, love, and even recipes, to all she knew.
Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She loved her children, Tyghe Mahynski of New Era and Marci (Pete) Terryn of Caledonia, with a fierceness that was unmatched. Her six grandchildren, Jacob Gawron, Taylor Mahynski, Jaxson Mahynski, Chase Terryn, Madelyn Terryn, and Maya Terryn, were her absolute world, and they adored her in return.
Marsha is survived by: her loving husband of 54 years, David; her children and grandchildren; her siblings, Dan (Nancy) Ashcraft of Midland, Suzanne (David) Campbell of Charlevoix, Maribeth Bland of Midlothian, VA, Brian (Janet) Ashcraft of Grand Haven, Gary (Barb) Ashcraft of Allendale, and Rhonda (Wayne) Romatz of Alpena; her brothers-in-law, Daniel (Kathy) Mahynski of Ludington and Douglas (Kathy) Mahynski of Pentwater; along with six nieces, three nephews, five great-nieces, and three great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her in-laws Margie and Gregory Mahynski; her brother-in-law, James Bland; and her brother-in-law, Norman Goodwin.
Marsha's legacy is one of love, humor, and unwavering kindness. To know her was to love her, and she will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laugh, her love for life, and her endless heart will live on in the memories of those she touched.
