Martha Jo Buwalda, 62, of Whitehall, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at her home. She was born July 2, 1958, in Muskegon, the daughter of Marvin and Kathryn (Klimp) Muskovin.

Marty earned a Master of Education degree from Grand Valley State University, and taught for Orchard View Public Schools, and most recently for Whitehall Public Schools. She was a generous, faithful woman who had a passion for helping others less fortunate than herself. For the past couple of years she volunteered with the Lebanon Lutheran Church Food Pantry, and was a member of White Lake Congregational Church. Marty was obsessed with her grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her family.

Marty is survived by: her daughters, Kathryn Dorsey and Lindsay (Demarcus) Billups; grandchildren, Cooper Dorsey, Harrison Dorsey, Demarcus Billups Jr., and Summer Billups; and sister, Anne Sanborn.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Kathryn Muskovin.

Private interment will be in Oakhurst Cemetery, Whitehall.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
