Mary Alice (Zuelke) Bayne, 79, of Whitehall, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born November 1, 1944, in Maywood, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Nancy (Close) Zuelke.

On February 24, 1978, Mary married Richard Bayne, and they spent 46 years together.

Mary graduated from Kalamazoo Central High school in 1962.

Mary enjoyed buying and selling antiques, reading, bird watching, and had varied artistic endeavors throughout the years. She fiercely loved fuzzy friends of the feline sort!

Mary is survived by: her husband, Richard Bayne; daughter, Deb (Smeltzer) Riggs; son, Adam Bayne; step-sons, Brett Bayne and Mark Bayne; brother, David Zuelke; five grandchildren, Bonnie, Brianna, Blake, Broedy, and Jaimi.

Mary was preceded in death by: her parents, Fred and Nancy; brothers, Richard and Larry Zuelke; and sisters-in- law, Nancy and Patti Zuelke.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Whitehall American Legion Algot Johnson Post 69, 803 East Colby Street, Whitehall, MI 49461. A light lunch will be provided.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or The American Legion Auxiliary.
