Mary Ann Knowles McGahan, 75, of Brohman, died Thursday, June 6, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 13, 1943, in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of Steve and Mary (Dodds) Sauser.
On December 10, 1961, at the Walkerville United Methodist Church, Mary Ann married Max Knowles Jr., who preceded her in death on August 7, 2006. Mary Ann and Max owned and operated the M&M Grocery Store for over 40 years. Mary Ann was also very active in the Walkerville Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School, assisted with the Kids Club and brought children to church on Sundays. She loved taking care of her family and being around people.
On April 14, 2013, Mary Ann married Harry McGahan who survives her. She is also survived by: her sons, Duane (Lisa Graviett) Knowles of Walkerville, Tom (Jenel Tyndall) Knowles of Hesperia and Max (Christina Rivera) Knowles III of Walkerville; her grandchildren, Cristy Knowles, Rusty (Molly) Knowles, Kevin Knowles, Kayla (Tony) Knowles, Cecilia (Phil) Knowles, Max Knowles and Angel Knowles; her great-grandchildren, Da'Carri, Braylon, Brantley, Bretton, Gabriel, Antonio, Mallory and Harper; brother, Richard (Rosalie) Sauser of Crystal Valley; her sister, Sharon (Dick) Suschil of Scottville; her sister-in-law, Verna Flanery of Tacoma, Washington; and several nieces and nephews including Shara Stelling of Olympia Washington, and Irma Stanfield of Tacoma, Washington.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 10, 2019, at Walkerville Wesleyan Church, in Walkerville, with Pastor Jeff Lemire officiating. Interment will follow in the Troy Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Walkerville Wesleyan Church.
