Maudie Bertha Theresa Burrington, of Hart, died Saturday, September 22, 2012. She was born February 6, 1930 in Hart to Walter and Ella (Howard) Lathrop. Maudie was employed over 27 years at Blackmer Grocery in Elbridge Township. She was awarded the "Peace Giving Award" for her selfless acts of kindness toward others. Maudie was a faithful member for many years of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elbridge and St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart. She is survived by her children, Marguerite (Kevin) Munson of Montague, Michael Burrington of Muskegon, Allen (Linda) Burrington of Hart, Gary (Brenda) Burrington of Sparta, Diane (Mike Nielsen) Terryn of Hart; several grand and great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn VanAgtmael of Oregon, LaVerle Greiner of Hart, Marguerite Fitzsimmons of Muskegon; brother, Edward "Unc" (Evelyn) Lathrop of Hart. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Greiner; brothers in law, Max Fitzsimmons, George VanAgtmael, Harold Greiner. The Mass of the Resurrection for Maudie will be offered Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. from St. Gregory Catholic Church with Fr. Phillip Witkowski presiding. Interment will be made in the St. Joseph Catholic Church-Elbridge Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the King Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given to the Crystal Valley Care Fund.
