Obituary

Michael Clarence Josephson, 75, of Whitehall, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Mercy Health Mercy Campus in Muskegon.  He was born July 15, 1941, in Muskegon, the son of Clarence and Lunette (Vanderstelt) Josephson.

Michael served in the US Navy and was Honorably Discharged in 1963.  Afterwards he worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, then for Brunswick Bowling for several years until going to work as a supervisor at Lomac Inc., in Muskegon, where he was employed for over 20 years.

His faith and family were the main priorities in Michael's life.  He had been a member of Forest Park Covenant Church for many years. He was known for his big heart, smile and generous nature. He loved having family barbecues on the beach, and family gatherings at home.  Michael enjoyed working with his hands and could fix anything. When able, Michael enjoyed going fishing, playing a round of golf, cooking, reading and listening to music.

On December 9, 1961, in Muskegon, Michael married Ruth Marie Holman, who survives him. She has been the love of his life since he was 15 years old.  He is also survived by their 4 children: Natalie (Jeffrey) Stribley of Muskegon, Heather Johnson of Whitehall, Ingrid (Danny) Scheid of Whitehall, and Michael Josephson of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren, Meghan Stribley, Brendon Stribley, Aaron Stribley, Alison Josephson, Noah Josephson, Garett Josephson, Isaac Scheid, Hannah Scheid and Paige Scheid; 2 great-granddaughters, Madison and Sophia; his sister, Luann (Haken) Hendrickson of Muskegon; his brother, Jerry Josephson of Muskegon; and several nieces and nephews.
