Michael Louis Newman, 46, of Kingsley, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022.  He was born May 19, 1976, in Traverse City, the son of Michael and Joyce (Weber) Newman.

Michael attended Traverse City schools for a period, but graduated from Kingsley High School in 1994.  He was an amazing artist, enjoyed weaving baskets, and even made a bassinet for his son.  He always enjoyed tinkering, and had a knack for making something out of nothing.  He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, Harleys being his favorite. His wife and children were his greatest accomplishment and the pride of his life. Most importantly, he was a very family orientated man, who was very generous, had a big heart, and always tried his best.

On October 11, 2009, he married Tara (Aylsworth) in Traverse City.

Besides his wife Tara, he is survived by: daughter, Alyssa Newman; son, Michael Newman II; step-children, Mikaylah, Austyn, Aubrey, and Madyson Henderson; siblings, Angela (Ron) Spellman, Justin (Heather) Newman, Star Newman, Jeff (Kelly) Heimforth; his best friend/brother, Patrick Urbank; his grandbaby, Reaghan Henderson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by both of his parents.

A private family memorial service will be held in the future.
