Novakowski
March 17, 1956 – March 9, 2020
Michael Christopher Novakowski, 63, of Rothbury, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020, at his home. He was born March 17, 1956, in Grand Haven, the son of Jack and Jacquelin (Palmer) Novakowski.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He later devoted 17 years to Eagle Ottawa Leather, and then worked as a corrections officer in Galveston County, TX. Michael enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and was an avid Detroit Lions fan. He also enjoyed cooking, and had a tremendous love for his family, especially his grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Novakowski; children, Ben Novakowski of Louisiana, and Shelley (Luke) Merritt of South Boardman, MI; grandchildren, Jackson Novakowski, Olivia Novakowski, James Novakowski, and Hattie Novakowski, Donny Merritt, Sophie Merritt, and Keegan Merritt; mother, Jacquelin Novakowski; siblings, Steve (Leslie) Borgman, Mary Workman, and Stephanie Vasquez; mother-in-law, Edna Herron; sisters-in-law, Patti (Glen) Kats and Nancy (Jeff) Busman; brothers-in-law, Charles (Anna) Rouwhorst and Joe (Kati) Herron; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by: his father, Jack Novakowski; brother, Ray Novakowski; and fathers-in-law, Tom Herron and Charles Rouwhorst.
In accordance with Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
