Michael Francis Parrish, 68, of Whitehall, died Thursday, December 2, 2021, at home. He was born January 22, 1953, in Muskegon, the son of Carl and Evelyn (Jaschek) Parrish Sr.
Mike was proud to be an AGE (Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician) in the US Air Force for 4 years until being honorably discharged in 1976.
Mike was employed as a manufacturing engineer at Howmet Plant 5 for over 34 years until his retirement in 2012. In his spare time, Mike loved fishing, hunting, playing golf and traveling. A pilot, Mike also loved flying. Mike could play the guitar and the mandolin, and enjoyed going to country music concerts.
Mike was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Whitehall, and the National Wild Turkey Federation where he served as President of the Dune Drummer's Chapter.
On February 7, 1976, in Tucson, Arizona, Mike married Diane Tacker, who survives him. He is also survived by: 3 children, Jonathan C. Parrish of North Muskegon, Amber R. (John) Mudreyko of Taylor, and Jamie L. (Mark) Medema of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren, Davey Mudreyko, Gia Mudreyko, Ava Mudreyko, Zoey Mudreyko, Austen Parrish, Logan Parrish, Wyatt Medema and Evelyn Medema; his brother, Carl W. (Cheryl) Parrish Jr.; his sister, Susan M. (Phillip) Buys; and several nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Journey Church Northside, 1937 Whitehall Road, Muskegon, MI, 49445, with Braden Britton officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church until 1:30 PM when everyone is invited to go to the Fruitland Township Cemetery where military graveside services conducted under auspices of the Whitehall American Legion Algot Johnson Post 69 will be held at 2:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
