Monica Rose Daniels, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 14, 2024. She was born March 3, 1973, in Holland, the daughter of Gary Helmkamp and Donna (Chutorash) Renshaw.

During Monica's sophomore year at West Ottawa High School, she moved to England to begin an exciting new chapter in her life. There she met her husband-to-be, Chris Daniels. She was a graduate of De Montfort University, UK where she studied computer science and later worked for Christy Co. as the UK and European IT Manager.

In 2006 the family moved from England to Pentwater to be closer to her family. Although IT was her career, Monica's favorite job was being a wife to Christopher, and mother to Nicole and Mitchel; she loved being a mom and homemaker. Monica especially liked going to Nicole's dance lessons and recitals, and Mitchel's cross-country races and track meets. She loved Lake Michigan for swimming with the family and paddle boarding on Pentwater Lake. Cooking was one of her passions and she was a master at sourdough bread, popovers, and British specialties. She could also be found in the garden tending her vegetables and plants, and sometimes dancing with Nicole to 'Just Dance' on the TV in the family room.

Monica will be dearly missed by: her husband, Chris Daniels; daughter, Nicole; son, Mitchel; parents, Quintus & Donna Renshaw; sister, Loraine Jenkins; brothers, Greg and Eric Helmkamp & their families; Uncle & Aunt, Glenn & Sidney Helmkamp; her English family, Lorraine Clarke and Damien Pothecary; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Monica was preceded in death by: her father, Gary Helmkamp; and her in-laws, Robert & Desiree Daniels.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her sister Loraine Jenkins Prus, who lovingly cared for Monica throughout her illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at the Lites Woods Clubhouse, 400 S. Clymer Street Pentwater, MI 49449.
