Morris (Pete) Henry Hunt, 86, of Montague, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025. He was born February 15, 1939, in Shelby, the son of Walter and Esther (Gillan) Hunt.

Pete graduated from Montague in 1957. After high school, he received his bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University in political science and mathematics. He co-owned Hunts Hardware until he retired in 1997.

He dedicated his life to his family and friends and community. He was active with White Lake Sport Fishing Association, his church; United Methodist, and supported political candidates and causes dear to him.

Pete is survived by: his daughter, Amanda (John) Kiefer; grandchildren, Alaina and Jacob Kiefer; and sisters, Cindy Francis, Edie Smith, and Sharon Schiller.

Pete was preceded in death by: his parents, Esther and Walter Hunt; and brother, Richard Hunt.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 10, 2025, at White lake United Methodist Church, 8555 Cook St, Montague, MI 49437, with Reverend Timothy Dibble presiding.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
