Mr. Murray Foster, age 79, of Ludington, MI passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, at home in Hamlin Township. He was born January 10, 1936, in Loverna, Saskatchewan, Canada to Noah and Grace (Jones) Foster. Murray graduated with an Associate's Degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was a Chief Land Surveyor obtaining M.L.S. and C.L.S. Certifications and was employed as a Land Surveyor in the Province of Manitoba, Canada. Murray retired in 1991 after 55 years. He married Kathleen Rouse on July 20, 2000 in Ludington, MI. Murray volunteered at the service desk at West Shore Community College and was active in the tower survey with the bird migration. He helped with the beach cleanup, enjoyed gardening, and was a member of the Association of Canada Land Surveyors and the Manitoba Association of Land Surveyors. Murray is survived by his wife, Kay Foster of Ludington, MI; two daughters, Carol Foster of Vancouver, Canada and Eleanor Foster of Darlington, UK; one son, James (Kerry) Foster of Winnipeg, MB; his brother, Lorne Foster of Victoria Falls, Vancouver, Canada; step-sons, Kevin (Michele) Rosche of Northville, MI and Christopher (Christy) Rosche of Clarkston, MI; step-daughter, Amanda Christianson of Ludington, MI; seven-step grandchildren, Jason, Tyler, Samantha, Amanda, Joshua, Stephanie and Thomas; niece, Debra Foster of Vancouver, Canada; and nephew, Dennis (Valerie) Foster of Vancouver, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Patricia Foster. A Celebration of Life for Murray will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at King Funeral Home, 301 N. Jebavy Drive, Ludington, MI 49431. There will be no visitation prior the celebration.
