Ned Anthony Zaffino, 89, of Warren PA, passed away peacefully Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility of Hart MI. He was born November 16, 1936, in Mayburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Samuel and Stella (Pisani) Zaffino.

In his early years, Ned enjoyed roller skating, camping with many friends and family, bowling, and was an avid Stateline Speedway fan. Later in life, Ned enjoyed Nascar, specifically Jeff Gordon, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, and playing cribbage and poker. He was a longtime member of the American Legion post 135 in Warren. Ned expressed his love by cooking for his friends and family - his specialty was his Sunday spaghetti and meatball dinners. Ned's heart was fullest when surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His big laugh and easy sense of humor filled every room and left lasting memories with all who knew him.

Ned became a Master Automotive Technician of 58 years and retired at Ed Shults of Jamestown, NY, rarely missing a day. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He was a 10-year member of the National Guard as a Motorpool Sergeant and a lifelong member of the Catholic Church of Warren, PA.

In 1958, Ned met the love of his life Dottie (Whitton) Zaffino at the Warren Roller Rink. They later married on September 30, 1961, and created a beautiful life and family together over the 64 years that they were married. Dottie survives him along with their children, Jay (Penny) Zaffino of Houston,TX, Tim (Margaret) Zaffino of Nashville,TN, Tammy (Jim) Swanson of Pittsburgh, PA, Joy (Tom) Ray of Hart, MI; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Ned was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings, Marie Deloris Zaffino, Rose Curtis, Bruno (Chuck) Zaffino, Josephine Greenland, and Carmen (Susie) Donisi.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at St. Joseph Weare Catholic Church, 2380 West Jackson Road, Hart, MI 49420, with Fr. Phillip Sliwinkski presiding. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at the church. A luncheon will follow Mass at the St. Joseph Faith Formation Center. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery in the spring.
