Nile H. "Tex" Nelson, 75, of Ludington, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.

He was born on December 3, 1943, in Burkburnett, Texas, the son of Harry H. and Viola Elizabeth (Landers) Nelson. Nile served in the US Army from 1961-1967.

Nile was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutmaster for 15 years with various Boy Scout troops and he earned his adult Order of The Arrow Brotherhood.  Nile loved the outdoors especially fishing, camping and walking in the woods.  He also enjoyed woodworking, carving and drawing.

Nile is survived by: his wife, Charlotte Nelson; his children, Elizabeth Lynn Nelson Wilson, Eric Anthony (Christina) Nelson and Andrew Raymond (Sarah) Nelson, all of Ludington; and his grandchildren, Kathryn Elizabeth Nelson, Robert Eugene Nelson, Mark Wilson, Noah Wilson, Stefan Wilson and Cheyenne Wilson.

Nile will be greatly missed by many brothers-in law, sisters-in law, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, 309 S. Washington Avenue, Ludington, with Pastor Bill Ryder officiating.
