Mr. Norman J. Battice, age 73, of Walkerville, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010. He was born in Hart on October 30, 1936 and had been a lifetime area resident. On June 25, 1960 at Hart, he married Georgia Smith. Mr. Battice was employed as a laborer and then as a painter at Harbison-Walker in Ludington and retired on November 1, 2001. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving two enlistments for over seven years. Mr. Battice is survived by his wife of 49 years Georgia Battice of Walkerville; daughter, Brenda Sue (Brett) Bromley of Walkerville; five grandchildren, Petra, Evita, Therese, Gianna, and Joseph Bromley; mother, Maude Artz of Hart. He was preceded in death by his father. The Mass of the Resurrection will be offered Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Phil Shangraw presiding. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the King Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Restoration Fund.
