Mr. Norman Krantz, age 83, of Mears, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012. He was born August 30, 1928, in Golden Township to Elmer and Emma (Hallberg) Krantz. He served in the Army during the the Korean War. He was a self-employed farmer all his life. Norman married the former Betty Schneider on November 25, 1950, in Ludington. They were married almost 54 years before her passing in 2004. Norman had an interest in antique cars, with the Model A being his favorite. He would drive anywhere, anytime.
Norman is survived by three daughters, Dawn Woodley of Mears, Andrea (Jim) Carr of Coldwater, Lana (David) Jacobs of Coldwater; one son, David Krantz of Mears; two sisters: Karine (Frank) Rinaldi of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Nina Howard of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dorothy Cohrs, and his grandson, Todd Riggs.
Funeral services for Mr. Krantz will be Monday, January 9, 2012, at 1:00 pm at King Funeral Home in Hart with Rev. Ken Vanderlaan officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at King Funeral Home. Interment will be at Round Lake Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O.
