Obituary

Norman Ollo Sargent

Age: 86

Norman Sargent, long time resident of White River Township, Montague MI, passed away at his home Friday, February 24, 2017 after failing health.

Norman was born in Muskegon, MI on April 30, 1930, to George and Mabel Sargent. He had one younger brother, Fred Sargent, who preceded him in death.

Surviving Norman are: his devoted wife of 39 years, Lenora Calkins Sargent; daughters, Sharon Sargent Eckstein (Brian) and Patti Sargent; stepsons, Bruce Thompson (Paula) and Brian Thompson (Christine); grandchildren, Leslie Boker (Amanda), Lauren Boker (Schuyler), great grandchild Brooklyn Perry; two nephews, Andrew and Jonathan Sargent.

Norman purchased property on White Lake in 1957, where he would live for the rest of his life.

He and his wife, Lenora, both accredited stock brokers, established the Sargent Brokerage in Whitehall, maintaining the business until retirement.

Norman was an active man in his community.

Norman loved the White Lake Area, his friends and neighbors, deer hunting with his stepfather, Loyd Mason, his best friends son John Botbyl, and good friends.

He loved Boston terriers, bluegrass music, black bears, feeding the birds and squirrels, a game of cards and a cold Budwiser. Most of all, he loved his wife, Lenora, and his family.

Beacon Cremation and Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, in Whitehall, is in charge of arrangements.
