Obituary

“Some great Americans were born in February: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Norm Weber.” At least that's what my dad would say if you asked about his birthday.

Norman Arthur Weber was born to Julius and Leona February 6, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan. He lived there with his older brother Bob Weber (deceased) and younger sister Jean Walton until they moved to the Weber family farm in Buckley, Michigan in 1946.

Norm is a 1952 graduate from Buckley High School and met the love of his life, Georgene (deceased) at a local dance. They began a 67 year marriage June 2, 1955 and he built their first home together in Grawn.

Norm was a very generous and supportive father who spent a great deal of time with his family. He taught three daughters how to shoot clay pigeons, ride mini-bikes and take proper care of their cars. His eldest Kim Lint (Scott) preceded him in death but his middle daughter Connie Hernden (Wes) and youngest Lisa Hockin (Kevin) are still trying to remember to check and change their oil regularly.

Norm was a successful sales manager at AIS Construction Equipment Corporation for over 40 years. In addition to heavy equipment sales he had a passion for collecting classic cars and flying experimental aircraft. As a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association he spent over 30 years attending and supporting the EAA Airventure OshKosh Air Show.

Norman enjoyed spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren Jessie Houser (Jeff), Erin Secord(Dan), Kelsey Lint, Carly Wyant(Alex) and Noah Hockin(Grace) along with his great-grandchildren Wesley and Eleanor Houser, Ellie and Max Secord and Onyx Wyant.

Daughters Connie and Lisa sat with him as Norman joined his wife and eldest daughter Sunday, June 28th, 2026 at 8:40 p.m. His absence will be felt everyday.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, is in charge of arrangeemnts.
