Obituary

Patricia Martindale, 90, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024.  She was born June 5, 1933, in Central Lake, Michigan, to Mae (Miller) and Harris Sage.

Pat was married to the love of her life, LeRoy (Roy) Martindale, in Central Lake, on June 2, 1951.  Roy and Pat spent over 20 years traveling the world for Roy's career in the United States Army, including duty stations in Germany, Okinawa, and across the United States.  Upon Roy's retirement from the military, they settled in the Traverse City area to raise their family.  Pat enjoyed a 27-year career at the Traverse Bay Woolen Company.  Before Roy's passing in 2009, Pat and Roy spent many years of their retirement together traveling, camping, square dancing and visiting with beloved friends and family.

Pat's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers of Hospice of Michigan and Medilodge of Leelanau for the kindness, care and compassion that they gave to Pat during her final days.

Pat will be remembered for her kind and open heart, her strength, and her warm smile.

She is survived by her three children, Stan (Anna) Martindale, Lori (Timothy) Dunn, and Larry Martindale (Leah Hendricks), seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many other extended family members.

Pat will be laid to rest next to Roy at Fort Custer National Cemetery in a private family service.

Gifts or donations in Pat's memory may be made to Hospice of Michigan in Traverse City ( hom.org/donate ).

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
