Peter Carl Damm, 76, of Montague, passed away September 3, 2022.  Peter was born June 14, 1946, in Muskegon, the son of Carl Peter and Hildur Damm.  Peter was a lifelong resident of Muskegon County, attending public school in Whitehall, graduating with the class of 1964.  Peter attended Michigan State University, Butler University, and obtaining a Bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida.  Peter was a member of the White Lake Eagles since 1974.

Peter was a lover of antiques, especially mechanical antiques and tools. Peter owned several antique stores over the years in the White Lake area.  He enjoyed meeting people and sharing his time and stories.  Peter especially liked talking to customers that came into his stores where nobody was a stranger after a few minutes. He always had time to stop and visit with friends when out and about in town.  Peter enjoyed the holidays with all his family, especially Christmas. Our hearts are sad and our tears flow, but Peter will live on in the memories we share of him.

Peter is survived by: his nephews, James Damm and Hugh McPherson; niece, Jane Boyden; numerous grand and great-grand nephews and nieces; his beloved life partner, Terry Hughes; her sons, Steve Hughes and Greg Hughes; Steve's wife, Angela and their children, Riley and Lexie; and Greg's wife, Helena and their daughter, Sarah.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1101 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461, with a luncheon to follow. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the following: YMCA Camp Pendalouan, Lebanon Lutheran Church, or the Community Foundation for Muskegon County.
