Mr. Philip K. Stevens, age 84, of Howell, MI and formerly of Pentwater, died Thursday August 20, 2009. He was born in Pentwater on November 23, 1924 to Edward and Nina (Garvey) Stevens. He was employed as a millwright at Ford Motor Company in Livonia for 38 years until his retirement. Mr. Stevens served his country in World War II with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Pentwater VFW Post 6017. He is survived by his family, son, Kendall (Jeri) Stevens of Hartland, MI; four daughters, Kerri Stevens of Milford, MI, Cindy Flauger of Michigan, Danette Lee Dubuc of Howell, MI, Shelley McCarthy of Nevada; eleven grandchildren, Melissa, Danielle, Brittany, Leah, Brielyn, Autumn, Greyson, Sandy, Holly, Christopher, Kimberly. He is also survived by his former wife, Glenny Kinder of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, George, Gerald and Rex Stevens, two sisters, Dorothy Monroe and Maxine Herklotz. The Memorial Service for Mr. Stevens will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. from the Tate-King Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Rickard officiating. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery with Military Rites by the Pentwater VFW Post 6017.
