Phyllis Jean Brayton, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 4, 1937 to Frank Mackniesh and Dorothy Kaufman Mackniesh.

Phyllis will be remembered for her strong morals and firm beliefs.  She had a warm heart for friends and family, always there with a listening ear and warm embrace.  She enjoyed reading, journaling, gardening and needlepoint.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband Robert F. Brayton.

Sons Dave (Darlene) Brayton and Scott (fiancé Claire Harrington) Brayton and daughter Jill (Steve) Brown; Grandchildren Sarah (Ryan) Welsh, Noah (Hannah) Brayton, Adam Brayton, Kaitlin (Daniel) Maier, Danny (Brooke) Brown and Kristin Brown, : great grandchildren Liam Dezwaan & Margot Welsh, Clemens Maier and Raelynn Brown.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, January at 11AM, followed by a luncheon at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Elk Rapids, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to: Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 143 Charles, Elk Rapids, MI 49629.
