Phyllis Ann Groenewoud, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2017.  Phyllis was born on February 9, 1943 to James and Gertrude Dean.

Phyllis married Willard Groenewoud in 1963. Together they were blessed with 53 years of marriage and 2 children. Phyllis was a graduate of Michigan State University and Cooley Law School. She worked as an attorney at Michigan National Bank and the State of Michigan.  She enjoyed traveling, bike riding, living at the lake, MSU basketball and was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren.

Phyllis was an intelligent, generous, strong, resilient woman who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Willard; children, David (Lori) Groenewoud and Sharon (Dave) Beneventano; grandchildren, Claire, Thomas, Daniel, Matthew and Amanda; and sister, Peggy (Bill) DeBoer.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Phyllis had requested that a private celebration of her life take place.
