Mrs. Rachel M. Woodhouse-Flood, age 85, died Thursday, January 24, 2008. She was born in North Weare Township on February 2, 1922 to John and Mina (Wilson) Powers. She was united in marriage to Raymond Woodhouse on September 25, 1941 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1981, she then married James Flood on March 15, 1983 and he also preceded her in death on August 17, 1999. Rachel was employed for 25 years at Howmett Corp as an Inspector until retiring in 1981. She was baptized and a member of the Crystal Valley United Methodist Church. Her interests included flower gardening, cooking and baking. She enjoyed baking cookies and loved to cook meals for friends and family. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her son Gary Woodhouse on January 24, 1983 and seven brothers and eight sisters. She is survived by three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one step-son, Col. James (Lily) Flood of Rockford, AL. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 28, 2008 at 4:30 P.M. at the Crystal Valley United Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Worley officiating. Interment in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Crystal Valley United Methodist Church.
