Obituary

Richard Joseph Graczyk, 79, of Ludington, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.  He was born January 21, 1939, in Ludington, the son of Albert and Gertrude (Ozminski) Graczyk.

Rich graduated from St. Simon School in 1957.  Afterwards he worked as a salesman for Jiroch's Tobacco and Candy from 1957 to 1979 until purchasing Northside Market which he owned and operated from 1979 to 2000.  He was an active member of St. Simon Catholic Church, the Sons of the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

In his spare time, Rich enjoyed outdoor activities including camping and fishing on Lake Michigan.  He also enjoyed riding his moped, snowmobiling and driving around in his convertible.  Rich loved traveling, having spent several winters in Florida and over ten winters in Lake Havasu City, AZ.  He especially liked going on cruises.  Most of all, Rich loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rich is survived by: his loving companion of over 20 years, Connie Sides of Ludington; his children, Theresa (Mike) Klemm of Ludington, Jim (Cheryl) Graczyk of Midland, Jeanne (Gus) Pardo of Highland Beach, Florida and Joanne (Damon) Lettich of Indianapolis, Indiana; his grandchildren, Erika (Kevin) Burgess of Ludington, Aaron (Samantha) Klemm of Rockford, Jimmy Graczyk of Midland, Michelle Graczyk of Midland, Rachel Graczyk of Midland, Will Graczyk of Midland, Nicolas Pardo of Highland Beach, Florida, Ethan Lettich of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Riley Lettich of Indianapolis, Indiana; 3 great-grandchildren, Lelia Burgess, Emma Burgess and Simon Burgess; the mother of his children, Helen Graczyk of Ludington; his sister, Rita (Bernie) McArdle of Muskegon; and his nephews, Scott Graczyk and Dave Graczyk.

Rich was preceded in death by: his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Irene Graczyk.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 19, 2018, at St. Simon Catholic Church, in Ludington, with Father Wayne B. Wheeler presiding. Interment will be in the Pere Marquette Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, 309 S. Washington Avenue, Ludington, from 4-7 PM, with praying of the Rosary at 6:15 PM followed by a time to share memories.

Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice.
