Richard Heise, age 76, passed away August 31, 2017. Richard was born on August 23, 1941 to Fred and Eugenie Heise. He grew up in Eastchester, New York, about 25 miles north of New York City. He went through the Eastchester school system and graduated from Eastchester High School in 1960. Shortly after high school he joined the Air Force. He was discharged from the Air Force after serving in 1964 and started work at Bankers trust in New York City.

After 11 years he decided banking was not for him and worked for Texaco Oil Company. It was here that he met Phoebe Squires. They fell in love and were married on November 6, 1966. They were blessed with 3 children and over 50 years of marriage. In 1977 a job with GTE brought Richard and Phoebe to Muskegon where Richard worked until he retired in 2002. Richard was a very funny, gentle and compassionate man who loved to make people laugh. He will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his wife, Phoebe; children, Lisa Heise, Heidi and Andrew Hunt, and Richard Heise II; grandchildren, Ayden and Gavin; and brother, Fred Heise.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dr. Donald Heise.

The Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:00AM at New Beginnings Church, 200 S. Division St. Whitehall, MI.
