IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Ivan
Jensen
May 13, 1944 – October 31, 2025
Richard Ivan Jensen, age 81, of Scottville, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2025. Born in Ludington, Michigan, Rick spent most of his life in the Scottville area, where he built not only a respected career but a lifetime of friendships, laughter, and family memories.
Rick worked as a mason for Jensen Masonry, a trade that reflected his strength, precision, and dedication. Over the years, his craftsmanship could be found throughout the community — solid work that, much like his character, was built to last.
When he wasn't working, Rick enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him joy: visiting the casino, playing cards with family and friends, spending time on the golf course, and enthusiastically supporting his grandchildren in their athletic endeavors at MCC. He was known for his humor, quick wit, and love of good company. He brought laughter to every gathering.
Rick is survived by: his children Karen (Victor) Sanchez and Bobby (Molly) Jensen; grandchildren, Michenna Jensen, Arianna Jensen, Gabrielle Jensen, Bobby Pierce, Mark Soraci, Daniel Soraci, and David Soraci; great-grandchildren, Anthony Pierce, Jayden Jensen, Liam Jensen, Ellie Jensen, Grayson Soraci, Peyton Soraci, Hayden Soraci, and Scarlett Soraci; and great-great-grandchild Shiloh Pierce; siblings, Pamela Derooy, Cheryl (Donald Fletcher) Jensen, Donald (Donna) Jensen, Vic (Kim) Jensen, and David Jensen.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Maryann Jensen; parents, Ivan and Jeannie Jensen; siblings Ron Jensen, Sandy Gonzelaz, and Cindy Purchase; brother-in-law James Derooy; and his beloved daughter Kathy Jensen.
Rick will be remembered as a hardworking man with a generous spirit and a sharp sense of humor. He built a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty that his family and friends will carry forward. His presence will be deeply missed, but the stories, smiles, and memories he leaves behind will continue to bring warmth to those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held from 1-3PM, on Saturday November 8, 2025 at 225 N. Campbell Rd. Fountain, Mi 49410. The family invites all who knew him to join in honoring his memory and sharing the laughter he so easily inspired.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
