Richard Wayne LaPree, 84, formerly of Montague, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019. He was born on April 7, 1935, the son of Charles and Nellie LaPree.

Richard married Margerie Goodrich on April 10, 1954. Together they were blessed with six children and 57 years of marriage until her death in 2012. Richard had various jobs during his life and excelled at all of them. He enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, camping, and trains. The most important thing in his life was his family and God. He was a strong-willed, caring, loving, and remarkable man. He will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by: his children, Larry (Mary) LaPree, Robert LaPree, Greg (Dianne) LaPree, Richard LaPree Jr., Patricia Cranmer, and Barbara Anderson; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Barbara (Robert) Witte and Nancy Walters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margerie and his parents.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 13, 2019, at White Lake Wesleyan Church, 503 South Division St., Whitehall, 49461, with Pastor Tom Coffey officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church. Interment will be at South Ferry Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
