Mr. Richard Richardson, age 78, of Walkerville, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013. He was born May 8, 1935, in Walkerville to Charles and Nancy (Dodds) Richardson. Richard graduated from Walkerville High School. He married the former Marjorie Jensen on April 8, 1972, at the Hart United Methodist Church. They were married 40 years before Marjorie passed away on October 5, 2012. Mr. Richardson was an organic farmer and was very good with repairs, especially electronics. He loved flying and often flew with Miles Chase. He was an avid reader, using this to teach himself many things. He was currently learning Hebrew. A very active member of the Hart United Methodist Church, he played the piano, accordion, and harmonica by ear. He also enjoyed cooking.

Richard is survived by two daughters, Karissa (Fredrick) Pease of Montague, and Kathleen (Montana Banwell) Richardson of Walkerville; three sons, Adam (Darlene) Richardson of Dansville, Matthew (Kelly) Richardson of Grand Rapids, and Nathanael (Beverly) Richardson of Hart; eighteen grandchildren; and his brother-in-Law, George Perry of Pentwater. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; his daughter, Katie Richardson; his son, Erwin Richardson; and eight siblings.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Richardson will be Friday, August 9, 2013, at 12:00 noon at Hart United Methodist Church in Hart with Pastor Rebecca Wieringa officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family requests that any memorials be directed to the King Funeral Home for funeral expense.
